Our story

A changed life.
A calling to help others.

Before there was a network, there was a life changed by Christ—and a desire to help others find that same hope.

01 / A new beginning

The vision began with a life made new.

“I had lost everything, and I had this new life in Christ.”
Michael Snetzer Founder of GRN

As Michael prayed about how God might use him, he began to imagine helping others through revolutionary treatment centers. At first, he understood that vision in terms of medical and technological advances.

Over time, he came to understand its foundation differently. The revolution he was describing began with Christ and the cross. He had experienced that new life himself, and he wanted others to find it.

02 / A recurring question

Where do I send someone for help?

That question kept coming from people looking for care. Michael saw a need for a central place to find gospel-centered resources—and for stronger connections among the people providing them.

While serving at The Village Church, a conversation about starting a nonprofit helped move the idea forward. People with experience in counseling, transitional living, church equipping, and other areas began gathering around the vision.

An invitation to teach on addiction at an Association of Biblical Counselors conference gave that emerging work a place to be shared. People stepped forward to help, including an attorney who assisted with the founding documents. Gospel Recovery Network began taking shape.

03 / A connected community

People need care that stays connected.

The vision reaches beyond a referral. It brings together a welcoming church, counseling, housing, recovery ministry, and discipleship so people have a community to walk with them.

That model is established in Dallas–Fort Worth through Citizens Church and its year-round Steps and Recovery programs, counseling aligned with the GRN vision at Frisco Counseling Center, and full-time housing at GRN House – Prosper.

Beyond DFW, the network is still small and resources are currently limited. We aspire to help churches and providers build similar local connections in other geographies. A fully integrated treatment center remains a future goal.

Our mission

Connect and equip.

The Gospel Recovery Network exists to connect individuals and families to gospel-centered resources to pursue redemption in Christ and equip lay-persons, counselors, churches, and organizations to minister to individuals in need.

Connect people with care.

Our DFW model brings church community, recovery programs, counseling, and housing into relationship. We are inviting churches and resource providers elsewhere to help build similar connections, united by the conviction that true freedom is found in Jesus Christ.

Equip communities to care.

We believe the Church is called to be a redemptive community. We seek to equip local churches and caregivers to walk with the people in their care, through training, biblical counseling resources, and gospel-centered teaching.
